Join us for an evening at Fairground General Store on Friday, September 11, between 5:30-8pm! The evening will feature local creators & vendors, live music, and community connection in our small town.

October 1st-17th - Krispy Kreme Doughnut Fundraiser
Order your delicious doughnuts - $17/dozen or $30/two dozen - between October 1st and 17th! Then you can eagerly look forward to pickup day on October 24th. Come by the Tillsonburg Legion at 16 Durham Street anytime between 11am and 3pm to claim your boxes!
October 24th - Quarter Auction
Come out and have fun on October 24 for a Quarter Auction & Penny Sale for Rags To Riches Cat Rescue at the Tillsonburg Legion at 16 Durham Street. There’s over 100 prizes to be won! We’ll also have a 50/50 Draw, a raffle, snacks, crafts and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Doors open at noon, auction starts at 1:00. Penny Sale winners will be drawn at 2:00.
Our quarter auction is a FUNdraiser for Rags To Riches Cat Rescue.
When you arrive you pay $10 at the door. This will give you one sheet of Penny Sale tickets and one auction paddle to be used with quarters for bidding on items. Your paddle will have a corresponding numbered chip which will be put into the drawing bin.
Extra paddles and Penny Sale tickets will be available for purchase for $5 each.
The items that will be up for bids will be on tables at the front of the room so you can see what will be up for auction and decide which items you're interested in.
Once the auction begins, the announcer will hold up the item that's up for bids and will announce whether the item is a "1 quarter" bid, "2 quarter" bid, “3 quarter” bid or “4 quarter” bid. There are containers on each table for your quarters. If you're interested in bidding, you'll put the amount of quarters that was announced for EACH paddle you want to bid with into the container.
If you have two paddles, want to bid with both to double your chances, and the item is a "one quarter" bid, you'll put 50 cents in the bucket and raise your paddles. If you have two paddles and decide to only bid with one, you only pay 25 cents, BUT you must choose only one numbered paddle to bid with. If you have an ALL IN paddle, you will simply hold that paddle up and will not be adding quarters to bid. A worker will be walking from table to table with a bucket to collect bids.
The announcer will then draw a number to find a winner. If they draw your number and you had bid on the item, hooray! You just won an awesome item at a great price! If they draw your number and you did NOT bid, just call out "no bid!" and we’ll continue to draw numbers until we find a winner.
This is continued until all items have been auctioned. We have 50 items up for bids!
Be sure to bring quarters, but if you forget or run out, there will be a limited supply of rolled quarters available for purchase at the event.
If it all sounds complicated, don’t fret. Everything will be explained again once you get to the auction. You'll catch on quickly and will have a great time!
The Penny Sale will be set-up at our event too. 1 sheet has 25 tickets stubs that you’ll place into containers on the prize you’d like to win. We have 50 prizes to be won! Winners will be drawn at intermission.
There will also be a 50/50 draw and a raffle that you can purchase tickets for. Winners will be drawn at intermission.
We will have our craft table set-up and a snack bar. We are looking forward to this fun event!
November 14th - Puzzle Sale
Looking for some new jigsaw puzzles? Come shop our puzzle sale on November 14th from 9am-4pm, through Shop the Shore in Port Rowan (The Fellowship Hall, 12 Church Street). All proceeds support our cats and kittens!
Ongoing - Bottle Drive
Did you know that we collect empties? We certainly do!
We have a lidded empties bin to the right of our entry driveway donations shed here on our property at 132 Colonel Talbot Rd, and Kady Ruysseveldt from TIllsonburg is running a fundraising campaign collecting empties for us. She will even come to you to pick them up! Now that’s some amazing kitty support! THANK YOU KADY!
